Next, now that the stone is up a bit, you can slide a different rock into the middle of that big stone. Now that stone is up, a little bit you can slide a rock under there right at the edge of that stone and pull the mattock (or other pry tool) out. Usually you don’t want to pull the mattock back, for it may break, but turn it to its side/lay it down. By the way, when I say “pry” what I mean is take the blade end of your mattock and jam it under that stone. Large flagstones and landscape steps, too.
